Baron De Badassiere Picpoul De Pinot Any time, any place, anywhere. Crystal clear and delicious and a bargain to boot!
Meinklang Prosa Biodynamic producers ahead of the pack. A fun fizz great for a celebration or just because.
Canace Nero did Troia Winter in a glass! Rich and smoky. Big Italian Red.
Bobbie Burns Shiraz Classic Aussie Shiraz. Full-bodied and peppery - enough said!
Cuvee des Copains Fun, fun, fun. Natural red from Rhone Valley.
Izadi White Rioja Underestimated delight. Great with fish or for just sitting in the sunshine.
Tabula Rasa #V18 White Field Blend (Australia) 500ml Love the size of this bottle. Perfect if you want a post-work glass of wine and/or one with dinner. Aromatic and full-bodied. Summer juice. Natural wine.
Massaya Rose (Lebanese) This is better than a lot the well known Provencal Rose's from France (and about £5 cheaper!). The burst of citrus sunshine at its core with balsa-wood spice and lots of under-ripe strawberries. Dry finish.
Koch Cserzegi Fuszeres (Hungarian) The lovechild of a good Pinot Grigio and a Gewurztraminer. Summer rose garden and freshly shaved ginger nose. Elegant, high minerality palate. Dry finish. Great with Asian food. Grape name pronounced ser-zay-gee fuzz-er-ez.
Chateau del Tracey Pouilly Fume (French) Stunning and elegant. Restrained nose of smoked blackcurrant leaf. Beautifully balanced acidity. If I could wire this in on a drip I would.
Turbigo Cinsault (French) Made in Paris with Rhone grapes. We are one of the few stockists. Pure and refreshing. Incredible acidity. Thirst-quenchingly delightful. Romantic and great with salty hard cheese boards. Or on its own.
Pax Aeterna Old Vine Grenache (Australia) This is a Natural wine and has a gentle spritz to it. I LOVE Pinot Noirs and this wine falls into that family. I first tasted it on a beach up North watching the sunset and it was PERFECT. Ripe strawberry juice with spice and lifted acidity. Goes with pretty much every food possible.
Altolandon - Enblanco Rose gold elixir. Delicate and elegant with notes of toasted almonds and orange blossom. A proper ethereal experience.
Finca Bacara - Time Waits For No One I keep coming back to this because it's an absolute smokeshow. Bold as brass with a juicy lasting finish. Bangin' wine to pair with stodgy winter comfort food.
Le Petit Balthazar - Viognier/Sauvignon Blanc Fab wee zippy number. Crisp and fruity with nice, bright acidity. Only a tenner and low ABV too so a great shout for a long, boozy lunch sesh.
Chateau de Brissac - Cremant de Loire Tell your ma to keep her prosecco, you drink cremant now. Light and floaty with a bite of fresh pear. Fizzy feel good.
Casal Figueira Tinto
You can’t put a price on the smiles in the winemaker's faces in the photo, I mean look how happy the are. They’re happy that they have made a great wine and they’re happy that you’re drinking it. Made of the once commonly found varietal Castelão with minimal intervention, it’s well balanced between juicy red fruit and acidity, with funk but isn’t overpowering, and sits nicely at 12,5% - can be enjoyed whilst remaining productive.
SMILEY NV CHENIN
Keeping the smiles all around, I’ve chosen this blend of four different vintages of Chenin Blanc from South Africa. It’s much more serious than it looks, it’s big and bold and well rounded like a pear tart covered in almonds and drizzled in honey. Don’t let anything stand in its way though, drink it by itself, and don’t chill it too much either, let it do its thing.
\\\TALES of COCKTAILS///
!!!The Bellini Vino Martini!!! 90ml Koppitsch Alexander Rose 30ml Briottet Creme de Peche 5ml (1tsp) Maraschino Cherry Juice (from the jar) A good hit of the Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters Garnish with a Luxarado Maraschino Cherry How about that name! We love it!
W is the letter of the week and we had to do wine! Not wanting to get too silly with it, we've taken the classic Bellini cocktail and given it a little bit extra.
The Austrian rose has a lovely honey burst, with the peach liqueur lending another layer, the cherry liqueur juice brings them both together, and we'll level off the sweetness with that stunning chocolate bitters. Amazing!
Get everything into a shaker with loadsa ice, hard shake, and double strain. Enjoy
PS This is a slightly lighter than usual drink, so whilst it will fit into a deep martini glass, it can also be served into a highball with ice. If you're going for that, you could even garnish it with one of the chocolate cherry liqueurs from our chocolate fridge!
