BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU'21 PACK

£100

Like most wine geeks, we get really excited for the annual release of Beaujolais Nouveau. This young, tasty wine was traditionally made to celebrate the end of the harvest. Over the years, it's grown arms and legs, and now it's one of the most anticipated dates in the wine calendar, being released on the third Thursday of November.

This year we've selected some absolute belters, from some very well-known Beaujolais producers. Our Beaujolais Nouveau 2021 box contains 6 wines, which can also be purchased separately.

GUY BRETON

Guy Breton is no stranger to natural wine, being one of the 'Gang of Four' who introduced the world to ancient wine production techniques in the 1980s. We love his wine and this is the first time we've had his Nouveau, so we're very excited! Expect juicy citrus acidity, cranberry notes and a Ribena like texture. Yass!!!

PHILIPPE DESCHAMPS

Philippe is a true craftsman when it comes to winemaking and his nouveau is no exception. Older vines produce lower yields, meaning the fruit he gets is the best of the best, and it really shows here. Really bright, juicy, and a lot of fun!

LACONDEMINE

This is an absolute cracker from Jerome Lacondemine. He's produced a complex young Gamay with minimal intervention and no added sulphites. Perfect Christmas afternoon drinking, or you could hold onto it for the barbeques next summer.

DOM. DE LA COUVETTE

Gautier Marion is a fifth-generation winemaker from Southern Beaujolais. He uses traditional fermentation in concrete tanks and carbonic maceration to produce that young, spritzy character we all love about the wines of the region. His nouveau is even more spritzier and full of red berry fruits. Sounds absolutely delicious!

PHILIPPE DESCHAMPS ROSE

This is a really fresh and uplifting Rose from Philippe. It has a Vinho Verde like texture, and bursts with light fruit, floral and mineral notes. It's a very complex wee thing and we absolutely love it!
